About Hotel Villa Iguana
A passionate team awaits you!
We are passionate about showing you a great time in this charming little Dominican village as well as the rest of the Dominican Republic.
Villa Iguana Hotel is a family owned village hotel. Alexander and Marion Tilanus have been living in the Dominican Republic for over 10 years now. Together they have traveled all over the Dominican Republic and can tell many stories of the great places this Caribbean Island has to offer.
Villa Iguana Hotel in Bayahibe opened in the year 2000, construction commenced the year before and the hotel has been running successfully for
15 years ever since. The hotel stood the time of 4 owners so far. The first being a German couple who also did the construction - Werner and Martina. After that Claus Muller bought the
guesthouse and not long after sold it to an Italian family until Alessandro and Kirsten bought it in 2015. Alessandro and Kirsten have plenty of passion and energy to make Villa Iguana
Hotel the best it can be.
In August 2016 all the rooms were renovated, air conditioning was installed in all the rooms and all guests now have access to the rooftop pool and bar area.
Zion is from Saona Island, Kirsten rescued her in 2011 and they have been inseparable ever since. Zion is a great addition to the team at Hotel Villa Iguana as she is always alert and very friendly will all the guests. She might follow you to the beach but don't worry, she knows her way around. If Zion is not at the hotel, she is having fun on the beach. The hotel is also covered from head to toe with CCVT camera's
Our Projects to stimulate sustainable tourism
Villa Iguana aims to be a leader in sustainable tourism. We aim to support and empower our local community. We support local businesses by buying as many of the products and making use of as many of the services as we can in Bayahibe itself.
We aim to support local initiatives and projects as well as make some of our own ecological and social projects come to life... Watch this space!
