We are passionate about showing you a great time in this charming little Dominican village as well as the rest of the Dominican Republic.
Villa Iguana Hotel is owned by Alessandro and Kirsten Siviero, a couple that have been living in the Dominican Republic for over 8 years now. Together they have traveled all over the Dominican Republic and can tell many stories of the great places this Caribbean Island has to offer.
Alessandro & Kirsten: on-site owners
Alessandro -originally from Italy- is always around and can fix just about anything around the property. A friendly and handy guy to have around. Ale is always out and about making sure everything is running smoothly and all the guests are attended to. He is a scuba dive instructor and likes hanging out with the travelers sharing stories. Perhaps you can taste his home brewed beer!
Kirsten -originally from the Netherlands but grew up in South-Africa- is the destination and marketing expert. If you are reading this it is because her and her team do a great job. Kirsten is part of many projects in and around Bayahibe and is usually busy on her computer making sure that all the information on the website is up to date and publishing great deals on accommodation and excursions in Bayahibe. Kirsten is a conservation ecologist and makes sure the hotel runs as eco-friendly as possible.
Sophie: General Manager
Sophie - originally from Belgium - Sophie is super organized and experienced in the tourism industry. She manages our awesome team. Anything from reservations to guest services to the rooftop bar everything is in her capable hands. Sophie speaks fluent French, English, Dutch and Spanish, you can also speak Italian to her.
She is usually around the hotel making sure everything is running smoothly.

Villa Iguana Hotel in Bayahibe opened in the year 2000, construction commenced the year before and the hotel has been running successfully for
15 years ever since. The hotel stood the time of 4 owners so far. The first being a German couple who also did the construction - Werner and Martina. After that Claus Muller bought the
guesthouse and not long after sold it to an Italian family until Alessandro and Kirsten bought it in 2015. Alessandro and Kirsten have plenty of passion and energy to make Villa Iguana
Hotel the best it can be.
In August 2016 all the rooms were renovated, air conditioning was installed in all the rooms and all guests now have access to the rooftop pool and bar area.
Zion is from Saona Island, Kirsten rescued her in 2011 and they have been inseparable ever since. Zion is a great addition to the team at Hotel Villa Iguana as she is always alert and very friendly will all the guests. She might follow you to the beach but don't worry, she knows her way around. If Zion is not at the hotel, she is having fun on the beach.The hotel is also covered from head to toe with CCVT camera's
Our Projects to stimulate sustainable tourism
Villa Iguana aims to be a leader in sustainable tourism. We aim to support and empower our local community. We support local businesses by buying as many of the products and making use of as many of the services as we can in Bayahibe itself.
